Mortal Remains Not Required For Resurrection -
The assertion by the apostle Paul that all the dead sleep until the Lord returns is false. Many do, but not all by far. While everything written in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-
So is it important to be buried in a cemetery plot, tomb or mausoleum? Of course, the pharaohs of Mitsrayim (Egypt) buried their dead in such containers. Other cultures expose bodies to the open air. Many choose to be cremated. Ashes are also spread over the sea or land. There are many precedents for disposal of human remains. Burial with a headstone has its uses too, especially for those interested in genealogies.
Whatever society and individuals choose to do with their dead is entirely up to them. Out of respect for the souls of the deceased who may want to stay with their remains or in a local space, containment is preferable, but not necessary. Ghosts of the departed still haunt many premises around the world while their bodies are buried elsewhere.
On behalf of their clients psychics and clairvoyants make it their business to communicate with them. Yet even they know that most eventually move on, often claiming they have gone to inhabit another life form. Consequently, there is no guarantee of any consciousness residing in that space, since it might have already left. Some with vivid imaginations will claim that they are still asleep inside a tomb, and therefore capable of having a rational conversation with them, and then engage accordingly.
Which ‘Holy City’?
Like so many beliefs in Christianity, the notion that resurrection takes place only after the final judgement does not belong to Yeshuwa’s teachings. Of course, many resurrections will occur then and therefore cannot be discounted. “I will raise him up in the last day” (John 6:40) means whenever he or she is called from the tomb.
The present writer has long wondered about the event described in Matthew 27:51-
On first reading it seems clear that human remains are necessary for resurrection and this acts as a proof text. The Greek word σώμα means a dead body. Mortal remains were most definitely buried in tombs and this text says that they came out with their bodies raised.
However, once one investigates the meaning of the term “holy city” (αγίαν πόλιν), there is another perspective to consider. “Holy city” is only mentioned twice in Matthew 4:5 and 27:53. Nowhere is it mentioned by Paul and his companions Luke, John Mark and Silvanus.
The next time it appears is in three verses in Yohannan’s Book of Revelation. In each (11:2, 21.2 and 22:12) it refers to the Heavenly Yeruwshalem. The temple which he is asked to measure in 11:2 is the heavenly one, not the edifice recently destroyed on Earth.
The intact bishops who advised Queen Helena and her son Constantine were totally incapable of defining any sacred site mentioned in the canonical Gospels. They could not know that Tor the Spirit of Eluhiym drove Yeshuwa to the very place where Eliyahuw had fled in 1 Kings 19:8. That, incidentally, was not Jebel Musa, but lay to the east overlooking Dahab.
From there the devil OM took Yeshuwa in an IRV to the holy city which is the heavenly Yeruwshalem. He did this via the well-
